Argentina sack Jorge Sampaoli

Jorge Sampaoli will no longer be the coach of the national team, Argentina have announced.

After a disastrous World Cup, Argentina accordingly announce the departure of coach Jorge Sampaoli.

The new coach will be announced in a week’s time, next Tuesday.

Sampaoli led Argentina at the World Cup in Russia, but dropped out in the last 16 to the eventual winners France.

The Argentinian football association released a statement announcing the firing of the coach as a mutual termination of his contract.
