Chelsea legend Frank Lampard has been appointed manager of Derby County

The 39-year-old Frank Lampard has signed a three-year deal with the Pride Park outfit, tying him to the club until 2021. Upon his appointment, the former England international said:

Lampard: “I’ve always wanted to manage a club with a big tradition and history like Derby. This is a huge opportunity for me.

“This is my first job as a manager, but I’ve worked closely with some of the greatest coaches. I’m confident in my own abilities.

“It won’t be easy managing a football team never is but I’m really looking forward to the challenge ahead and we want to build on the club’s top six finish in the Championship.
