Zinedine Zidane has shockingly quit as Real Madrid manager just days after winning the Champions league title.

On Thursday, a press conference was called at Valdebebas training ground where Zidane was joined by Real president Florentino Perez.

It was confirmed that the Frenchman is stepping down as Real Madrid manager.

“I’ve taken the decision to call it quits as manager of Real Madrid”, Zidane said. “I know it’s an unusual moment, but I believe it’s for the best. The team needs change after three years.”

Zidane’s reign lasted three years, years in which he shockingly won the Champions league title three consecutive years.

Zidane stated that this might be a “see you soon” as you never know what might happen going forward.

Real president Florentino Perez stated that this decision “is unexpected and a sad day for the club”.

Real Madrid won 9 out of 13 trophies and lost only 16 of 149 games with Zidane as their manager.

Zidane confirmed that he will remain close with the club, but his decision is clear.
