Morocco’s Nordin Amrabat slammed referee Mark Geiger for allegedly requesting Pepe’s shirt during the match between Morocco and Portugal at the World Cup.
Nordin Amrabat claims the referee Mark Geiger asked for Pepe’s shirt on Wednesday when Morocco played Portugal in a crucial Group B match.
The Portugal defender is known for getting in trouble with referees his entire career. This time around, he found himself in referee Mark Geiger’s good books.
Geiger managed to grab the headlines, as he allegedly asked for Pepe’s shirt despite the defender’s diving and acting near the end of the match.
“This is incredible, I do not know what the referee is used to”, Amrabat told the NOS. “I heard from Pepe that he asked for his shirt, and that he was very impressed by Cristiano Ronaldo as well”.
“We are here at a World Cup, this is not a Circus!”, added Amrabat.
“It is time to rest and recover, then close out the tournament in good fashion”, finished the Morocco player.
Morocco end their World Cup journey against Spain on June 25th, and they are not looking to go out quietly.
